3FX Produces Diabetes 3D “Interactive Learning Modules”

We recently were given the challenge of creating 8 minutes of animation showing the devastating impact Diabetes can have on various systems of the body.
Incorporated within a Flash-based interactive speaker presentation, these “Learning Modules” feature patient case studies, along with the unique ability to customize medical history and information; and then view the resulting disease progression within the animation.
Our greatest challenge to this large scale project was getting five different animators, working on three different 3D software packages, to come up with the same look and feel for all animations. Once this look had been established, we had the animators for Maya, Max, & Cinema 4D work on creating scenes and animations that would seamlessly fit together. Finally, using one artist to composite all six chapters of the show, the final animation maintained an aesthetically smooth and consistent feel.
Below you can view selections from the completed animations.
